NURSERY

Our Nursery is a vital part of our Early Education program. We offer care for children ages 6 weeks to 24 months. We provide a loving, Christian environment with staff who are trained in CPR/First Aid and have 45 hours of state required childcare training. Teachers are required to maintain 10 hours of continuing education training each year. We try to provide at least one teacher over and above the state required child to teacher ratio.

We send home a daily report card to make you aware of what your child did each day. We ask that all bottles be pre-made and labeled with the child's first name and last initial. Diapers are also provided by the parent; baby wipes are supplied.

We look forward to meeting you and your child. We believe that each child is a precious gift from God. We hope to have the opportunity to provide a safe, loving, and God-centered environment for your child.

infants (6 wks - 5 mos)

In Infants, every effort is made to keep each child on the same schedule that is provided at home and each child's individual needs are attended to daily by the teachers. The focus in this classroom is on strengthening muscles that help each child meet the ages and stages expectations of the pediatrician. This includes learning to pull up, learning to crawl, and learning the formation of words.

DISCOVERERS (6 - 12 MOS)

This classroom starts the year off by repeating the same care that is provided in Infants - allowing each child to remain on an individual, personal schedule. Three or four months into the school year, the children move individual schedules to a more set group schedule. We also focus on music, books, and individual play. This includes helping each child meet the proper ages and stages expectations of his or her pediatrician. A large play area is provided for development of each child's large motor skills and work on forming words continues. Outside time is provided daily.

navigators (13 mos-24 mos)

In the Navigators area, each child starts on the same schedule. Snacks, lunch, and naps are on the same daily schedule. Individual mats are provided. Teaching children to use sippy cups and small snack cups begins in this room; bottles are not allowed. The focus with our younger Navigators is on learning to play together, sharing, and large and small motor skills. Colors, shapes, and counting are introduced as abilities change. Playground time is provided twice daily and special activities each week. Bible stories and songs are a very important part of the day. All of these activities continue to help children meet the ages and stages expectations of their pediatrician. The W.E.E. Learn Curriculum is introduced in this classroom. This curriculum prepares those children who are two by September 1 of the following year to enter the Early Childhood Two's program (Explorers). The focus for the older students is on Bible, phonics, numbers, shapes, crafts, and science, as well as extending the focus on large and small motor skills. Potty-training is introduced but it is not required that each child be potty-trained at this time.
